On October 16, about 50 Palestinians joined by international activists blocked Apartheid Road 443 (known as Modi'in, which passes on West Bank lands, connecting Tel Aviv to Jerusalem). The road, closed for years to Palestinian traffic, was blocked for about 30 minutes.

The action was in response to increasing settler attacks against Palestinians and their properties during the current olive harvest season.

The Israeli army and Border Police responded to the action with beatings, concussion grenades and pepper spray. Several were injured. One Palestinian demonstrator was detained but released after one hour.
