An air passenger has captured the scary moment a power failure on a United Airlines aeroplane caused the cabin lights to malfunction mid-flight.

Nick Searle was flying from Chicago to Minneapolis late last month when he decided to record the video after the plane’s power supply appeared to fail.

During one and a half minutes of footage, the glitch causes the cabin lights to flicker on and off more than 50 times.

Despite the disturbance, the passengers on the flight remain calm and the plane later landed safely at Minneapolis−Saint Paul International Airport.
