An unusual video has emerged from Italy of a supermarket appearing to sell beer bottles branded with the portraits of infamous dictators.

Slawomir Peca, a Polish tourist, encountered the controversial beverages while visiting the town of Bibione in northern Italy on Saturday.

Looking to buy a drink, he went into a supermarket where he spotted a row of beer bottles bearing portraits of Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Benito Mussolini on their labels.

Curiously, amongst the selection was a bottle with pope John Paul II on the front.

"It was the strangest thing I've ever seen," commented Peca.
