A dramatic video has emerged of a stadium brawl between Mexico and Croatia fans during their world cup match on Monday.

The incident occurred at the Arena Pernambuco, Recife just after Mexico scored their first goal.

Around twenty fans can be seen throwing cans, swinging punches, and wrestling each other as goal celebrations became violent.

Mexico afterwards managed to beat Croatia 3-1.

In general the World Cup in Brazil has been filled with positive energy and camaraderie across fans and countries. It has also been very safe for spectators so this is very much an isolated incident.

In the small Croatian section, right after the first Mexico goal, Bere was sprayed in the air and the fighting began.
