Hurricane Bertha hits Cornwall

Buy video

Ex Hurricane Bertha makes landfall in Cornwall. Strong winds in excess of 50mph follow the overnight deluge and drive the normally small summer waves up into the ten foot region. Porthleven fishing baots shelter from the onslaught while the town was prepariing for its Lifeboat Day. Organisers later cancelled the Lifeboat Day due to the inclement weather.

At Sennen high winds rip white caps off the sea but holiday makers still enjoy a walk along the beach in a warm summer storm.
