Young cow rescued from a river
A heartwarming video has emerged of a young cow being rescued from a river in Aquitane, France on Wednesday.
Cedrick Plasseau was on a fishing trip with friends when he spotted the small calf, which they nicknamed ‘Lucky’, keeping her head above the water.
The group managed to lift Lucky onto the riverbank and dried her with hay before carrying her across a field to the farm from which she had strayed.
A few days after the rescue, Cedrick returned to the farm to find Lucky in good health.
To show his gratitude to the boys, the farmer promised that Lucky will be spared the slaughterhouse and will instead become a reproducer.
