London cyclist corrects policeman

A funny video has emerged of a London cyclist correcting a policeman about his use of a cycle path.

Cyclist Silvio Di Carlo was stopped by the police officer for allegedly riding on the pavement, when he was in fact using a designated cycle path.

The video, captured by cyclist Di Carlo’s helmet camera on Monday, shows the moment the policeman was left red-faced after failing to spot the clearly marked cycle lane.

Putting his hand out to stop Di Carlo, the officer asks, “hey - why are you on your bike on the pavement?”

Gesturing towards the road markings, Di Carlo responds, “this is a passage for a bicycle.”

Realising his mistake, the embarrassed policeman apologises in good humour while another officer waves Di Carlo on.

Writing online about the incident, Di Carlo said 'I thought it was pretty funny and told him not to worry...there was no need for a smart-arsed remark'.
