A squirrel stole a GoPro camera and carried it up a tree in this video from the Newsflare archive that has recently gone viral again.

The video, captured in Montreal in 2014, shows the cheeky squirrel hovering apprehensively over the device before snatching it and scampering up a tree while it records.

The squirrel then pauses and appears to put the GoPro down on the tree.

According to camera owner David Freiheit, the squirrel became attracted to a scrap of bread he had attached to the device as bait.

Thankfully, after eating the bread, the squirrel deemed the GoPro surplus to requirements and Freheit was able to recover the camera after the squirrel dropped it to the ground, all while still recording.
