An amusing video has emerged of an old man dancing in front of Christmas shoppers in Middlesbrough town centre.

The footage, captured by passer-by Jessica Rose Lewis, shows the sprightly pensioner jiving along to a saxophone player, while an amused crowd look on.

At one point, a woman - eager to share in the festive spirit - joins in for a spot of ballroom dancing.

Speaking to a local news organisation, Lewis described the experience:

“Everyone was crowded around him. We stood and watched him for a while - and he was still there dancing away when we walked past 20 minutes later!”

“Everyone was clapping and some [people] even walked past him and joined in as you can see on the video".
