A bizarre video has emerged of a man getting bitten while putting live snakes in his mouth.

The footage, shot near Jacundá, Brazil, late last month, shows stuntman Arteval Duarte putting two venomous snakes in his mouth when one of them suddenly bites his tongue.

Duarte, who is also know as the 'Ninja of Serpents', carefully removes the snake from his mouth, before pulling the fangs out of his tongue.

Fortunately, while painful, the snake’s venom was not deadly and Duarte only suffered from swelling.

Duarte later explained online that he has been charming snakes for more than 15 years and has the appropriate knowledge and training to deal with such an accident.
