A dramatic video has emerged of Millwall fans attempting to force their way through a line of stewards to get at Rotherham supporters during a heated football match on Saturday.

The footage, captured at the AESSEAL New York Stadium in Rotherham, shows the away supporters venting their frustrations after going 2-1 down in the final minutes of the game.

A group of enraged Millwall fans can be seen trying to force their way past security to get at the jubilant Rotherham supporters.

According to local reports, police are investigating the incident after it was reported that riot police and stewards were injured in the scuffle.

Writing online about the incident, the filmer said "Shortly after Rotherham scored their second goal to make it 2-1 after coming behind from 0-1 down, a section of the Millwall away support started forcing their way into the family stand through the segregation in the South East corner to attack the home support. This was in the corner across from where I was seated.

Whilst the police were dealing with that side, another section of Millwall supporters tried to force their way into the main stand where I was sitting. The stewards just about managed to hold them off before the police arrived with batons drawn. After the full time whistle blew Millwall fans outside began to throw objects including coins at the home fans making their way out.”
