A bizarre video has emerged of a bear and his trainer conducting an interview over Skype.

In the footage, captured in Russia late last month, the 300kg bear, named ‘Tima’, sits patiently on a sofa while his owner answers questions about Tima’s skills and behaviour from a woman who appears to be assessing his suitability for a performance role.

Tima, originally from Siberia, was adopted by a Russian circus artist in 1995 when he was just five months old and the pair have since travelled the world together, performing in shows and a variety of films.

According to his owner, Tima was very easy to train: “he has amazing qualities, he loves to play, he never shows any aggression, he’s not greedy and he’s great friends with my dog. We are very fond and proud of him! He is a member of our family!”

He also tells the interviewer that Tima can get restless in breaks between film shoots and performances because he likes to keep busy.
