Stunning timelapse footage has emerged of the view from the highest railway in Europe.

The video, captured late last month, on the Jungfraubahn in Switzerland, captures the route from the driver's perspective.

The filmer later wrote online: "This 9 km long electrified rack railway leads from Kleine Scheidegg (2061 m) to Jungraujoch (3454 m) which is the highest railway station in Europe - hence the marketing name "Top of Europe".

"Construction of the track began in 1896. It was opened after 16 years in 1912. Today it's one of the greatest Swiss attractions with more than 800 thousands visitors per year."
