Dramatic CCTV footage has emerged from China of passers-by collecting thousands of dollars off the road following a crash between a car and a motorcycle.

In the video, captured on a security camera at a crossroads in Shandong Province on Friday, a rider and a passenger on a motorbike are crushed under a car.

Dozens of people quickly gather round to rescue the men from under the car and pick up the money, which was scattered in the crash.

According to local news reports, the two lucky riders survived the accident without any serious injuries.

They were also handed all of the 260,000 yuan (around 42,490 US dollars) they were carrying as a down payment on a new property.
