A dramatic video has emerged from the US of a small plane hitting a deer on a runway.

In the footage, captured in rural Washington earlier this year, the pilot of the Cessna can be heard swearing as he spots the deer running across the airstrip while he is trying to land.

“It was a nice day... then this,” he later wrote online.

“We randomly decided to video record the landing since we were landing at our friend’s airstrip. Deer could not be seen during our 200-300' AGL flyover. We enjoyed some deer meat the next day.”
