An amusing video has emerged of a snake trying to crawl up a man's trousers as he attempts to catch it at a petrol station in North Carolina, US on Thursday.

The footage, captured by a passer by, shows the man trying to capture the creature while preventing it from slithering up his leg.

The man is eventually able to restrain the snake up - dropping it into some nearby bushes.

The filmer later wrote online: "I pulled up to the gas station and a old man was there saying he had looked down and a snake was trying to go up his pants.

"I then started to video tape it. I'm usually so scared of snakes but it was funny, and he got the snake and let it go in the woods so it wasn't harmed!"
