Elephant calf learns to use trunk

An adorable video has emerged of an elephant calf learning to use its trunk to drink from a lake in Kruger National Park, South Africa.

The footage, captured by a visitor to the park, shows the baby elephant splashing water around as it tries to carry it to his mouth.

"Elephant calves take up to 3 months to use their trunks properly. This little guy was trying to copy mom unsuccessfully and provided us with loads of entertainment," the filmer later wrote online.

Although the video was captured earlier this year it has only recently emerged online.
