A video has emerged of a rickshaw driver in central London being accused of "extorting" cash from a passenger.

The footage, captured by a passing cab driver on Wednesday, shows the moment the man was questioned by police after allegedly charging a £206 fare.

A mother and her son - the passengers of the rickshaw - can be seen standing next to the vehicle as police question the man.

Speaking to a local news organisation about the incident, the filmer said ""To be fleecing tourists like that - it's just disgusting what they're doing,"

"When I got out of the cab I could see he was trying to get more and more money.

"The woman wasn't great with English. [Rickshaw drivers] know tourists don't use cards and generally carry cash. Obviously they've spoken to each other and decided certain groups are an easy target."
