A deadly landslide triggered by continuous rainfall damaged a provincial highway last Saturday in northwest China's Qinghai Province.

The landslide happened on Lamuxia Section of the 202 Provincial Highway.

At 19:00 last Saturday, the highway was closed due to the loose rock on a nearby mountain. And then several pieces of rock fell off the mountain slope. Soon after, the number and volume of the rocks multiplied several times and fell heavily onto the road.

A large crack occurred on the mountain with rocks dropping continuously. Suddenly, massive rocks poured down from the slope with loud noise and dust.

No injury was reported in the landslide.

The section reopened at 16:00 on Sunday after a 20-hour emergency repair.
