Horrific footage has emerged from Wouzhou, China of a toddler with his arm stuck in an escalator.

The one-year-old boy fell on the escalator in a shopping centre last week and his arm was pulled into the mechanism.

According to local media, the boy was eventually freed and and taken to hospital where it was reported that he would likely lose the arm.

Security camera footage captured the moments leading up to the accident.
