The A591 is a major road in Cumbria, in the north-west of England. The stretch of the road between Windermere and Keswick, running along Thirlmere, was voted Britain's Favourite Road.

Massive landslides dumped of tons of rubble onto the road & the 21 Engineer Regiment have been tasked with cleaning it up.

Here we see the mud, rocks, water and abandoned cars, including a Mountain rescue vehicle who abandoned their vehicle and had to be helicoptered out of the area as a result of the extreme conditions.
