Footage of a man using an app on his Apple Watch to summon his Tesla Model S car.

The video, filmed on Thursday in New York, USA, shows the app opening the garage door and prompting the car to drive itself out of the garage.

The filmer later wrote online: "With the Watch and Remote S, the Tesla can open the garage door (via Homelink), drive itself out of the garage, and close the garage on its own.

"If you want it to work without the keyfob nearby, you need to first trigger the "Keyless Start" in the app."

To my knowledge, this is the world's first Summon on a Tesla Model S from an Apple Watch. Tesla owner Mark Schey uses the latest version of Remote S (by Rego Apps) for iOS. According to the developer, he was unable to test the feature before publishing the software, so this video is the first time in history a watch is controlling a production car autonomously. With the Watch and Remote S, the Tesla can open the garage door (via Homelink), drive itself out of the garage, and close the garage on its own.
