Dramatic footage has emerged from China of a man leaping off his electric bike and running away a split second before a petrol tanker slammed into the small vehicle.

The CCTV footage, filmed in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province last Saturday, shows an out-of-control tanker sliding into the electric bike at high speed, but the driver manages to escape just in time.

According to local reports, the large vehicle had earlier hit another lorry and a minibus and the driver was unable to regain control so it jack-knifed and slid into the electric bike.

According to local reports, the red lorry had earlier hit a blue lorry and a minibus and the driver was unable to regain control so it jack-knifed and slid into the electric bike.

Although one passenger on the minibus picked up a minor injury, no one else was hurt.
