Innovative use of advertising technology on Chinese subway train

Buy video

Footage of an incredibly innovative form of advertising on a subway train in Beijing, China.

The video, filmed earlier today by Jacob Strickling from the Make Science Fun YouTube channel, shows what appears to be around 100 metres of TV screens which flicker into action when the train enters a tunnel.

"The images shown on the screen match the speed of the train, so that the commuters can view the advertisements as the train is travelling along," Jacob wrote online.

"The first advertisement is for a running shoe, the second advertisement is for the mocie Tarzan being released in China."

"The video has stripes running rhrough the images due to what is called aliasing," he continued.

"This is where the frame rate of the camera is slightly different to the framerate of the images being refreshed."
