Woman tackles robber who snatched 24k RMB from her, after chasing him for half an hour in high heels
A Chinese woman had managed to get all her money back from a suspected robber after she chased him for half an hour in high heels.
The woman was mugged on December 13 outside a bank in Yiwu, eastern China, as she held 24,000 yuan worth of banknotes in her hands.
Determined to get her money back from the suspect, she chased the man in the streets wearing high heels. At one point, she jumped onto the suspect's motorbike as he attempted to flee by his vehicle.
The woman, surnamed Wang, had just withdrawn the money from the bank. The money had been sent by a client of her company and the woman was about to deposit the cash into another bank.
She failed to fit the pile of banknotes into her bag so she held them in her hands. The suspect spotted the opportunity and snatched the cash from her hands.
A CCTV footage shows the woman being attacked and robbed by the man who was wearing a black coat.
Wang, who was wearing high-heeled shoes, fell to the ground during the attack and the suspect quickly ran away from the scene.
The victim kept yelling 'I got robbed' as she got up from the floor and started chasing the man.
In order to stop passersby from intervening, the suspect yelled in return claiming the woman had owed him money.
Another surveillance camera captured the moment the man got on a motorbike, attempting to escape from the woman.
Wang carried on following the man by jumping into the passenger seat of the motorbike.
She used her right arm to strap his neck and the two fell to the ground during the struggle.
The man abandoned the bike and kept running away from Wang.
Tired of being chased, the suspect returned 10,000 yuan to Wang, asking her to stop following him.
On December 14, the suspect, surnamed Pan, was arrested in a rented house in Yitingzhen.
