Giovanni age 9 defied the odds to walk after hip surgery and now he is starting 2017 right.
Giovanni age 9 from Pennsylvania defied the odds when he took his first steps following his hip surgery in August 2016. He was determined to start 2017 off with a bang and wanted to walk without any equipment into the movie theater on New Year's Day. He also got to play in a puddle for the first time since his surgery and declares, "2016 didn't win!" He lives with a rare genetic condition called Schwartz-Jampel Syndrome and has had nine surgical procedures to date with his hip reconstruction surgery being his eighth procedure. He is standing tall and hopes to inspire others to remain as optimistic about 2017 as he is.
