An amusing video has emerged of a llama surrounded by police cars and officers near a highway in Georgia, USA.

The footage, shot on Wednesday, shows the llama trying to escape after the policemen finally manage to catch it following a chase on the highway.

"Me and my friend were driving down a busy highway in the middle of town and saw a ton of police cars chasing after something so we just assumed it was a police chase," the filmer wrote online.

"Well after that, we pulled into a cookout to drive thru and get food and we saw all the police cars in the back of the cookout and we thought someone was getting arrested. Until, the llamas head popped up!".

"A cop came over to the drive thru window and told us he had been running around the highway and they've been chasing him for a while!" she added.

The creature was reportedly brought back to its owner.
