A beautiful video has emerged of a distant avalanche disturbing the peace of the Himalayas.

The footage, shot on Mt. Neelkhand, India last year, captures streams of snow pouring down a cliff.

"As soon as I reached a place near it I sat down to meditate, but I couldn't sit there for a minute," the filmer wrote online.

"My eyes kept on twitching and I opened my eyes then I heard a huge roaring sound."

"It was a huge avalanche right there on an altar like place on the Mt. Neelkhand," he added.

Dr. Jayaram and I trekked to Mt. Neelkhand on 30 September, which is about 9 Km behind the Badrinath Temple. Mt. Neelkhand is a place of awe to many Padayathris (Walk of Hope Padayathra) and me. I walked to Mt. Neelkhand 6 times. This trek with Dr. Jayaramji was the 7th trek. As soon as I reached a place near it I sat down to meditate, but I couldn't sit there for a minute. My eyes kept on twitching and I opened my eyes then I heard a huge roaring sound. It was a huge avalanche right there on an altar like place on the Mt. Neelkhand. You could hear Dr. Jayaramji calling me 'Joe...Joe' loudly.
