At least six people were killed and 15 injured in a 19 vehicle crash on a highway in China's Guangdong Province on Saturday.

Amateur video from the immediate aftermath showed vehicles on fire and debris scattered across the highway.

The crash took place at around 0930 local time (0130 GMT) in Qingyuan City, the highway which connects Guangdong with central China's Hunan Province.

Six people were dead and 15 others injured in a 19-car pileup on a highway in south China's Guangdong Province on Saturday, according to the local traffic authorities.

Seven vehicles caught fire in the accident. The local highway administration and traffic police rushed to the site for rescue with the assistance from medical workers and firefighters.

Traffic has resumed on the highway section.
