SURFING WINTER STORM HELENA IN NEW JERSEY

Buy video

This past week during Winter Storm Helena I worked on this project with Sam Hammer, about cold water surfing here in New Jersey. Winter Storm Helena rolled in this past Saturday and we had sub-zero temperatures here with a high of 15 and negative wind chills. We also had a solid south wind swell in the water after a night of 6-8 inches of snow, we woke up and set on a track to find some empty waves. The edit shows the behind the scenes of winter surfing here in New Jersey in the snow and negative temperatures. Sam talks about his dedication for surfing in the winter. The video was shot in Lavalette, New Jersey and the surfing part in Long Beach Island, New Jersey.
