This is arguably the most ridiculous story you'll hear today.

According to reports in China, the cyclist in this video was riding home to celebrate Chinese New Year when he was stopped by police and told he's been travelling in the wrong direction... for more than a month.

The cyclist, who chose to ride home because he didn't have enough money for public transport, left Rizhao in Shandong Province many weeks ago and thought he was heading towards Heilongjiang Province.

But after asking a few people for directions, he reportedly ended up being stopped by the officers in Wuhu, Anhui Province, and informed that he's traveled south-west instead of north-east, and was more than 2,000 km off course.

In the end, the police and toll booth staff decided to have a whip-round for the unlucky traveler and paid for his train ticket home.
