There are a number of ducks that stick around for the winter in the Niagara Region, moving back and forth between bodies of water that have not yet frozen this winter.

These ducks were searching for food during a winter weather advisory issued by Environment Canada for the southeastern area of the Niagara Regions. The advisory called for lake effect snow off of Lake Erie to bring in five to 10 centimetres of snow to the area. Wind speeds were 40 km/h, with gusts hitting 60 km/h or more. The temperature was -1C, but felt like -10C with the windchill.
