Footage has emerged from China of a badly damaged car that continued to drive on a motorway for more than half a mile before being pulled over by police.

The video, filmed in Chongqing on January 22, shows the crushed and crumpled vehicle being inspected by officers at the side of the road, with cardboard boxes and other forms of packaging replacing the glass in all the windows.

The car was damaged after it scratched with a lorry.
