Mature Bald Eagle Eating a Swan - 1/26/2017
A pretty amazing eagle experience today. This fully mature adult bald eagle was tearing up the remains of another beautiful bird, a trumpeter swan. I doubt the eagle killed it since a swan is even bigger than an eagle. Probably a coyote got it, and then the eagle showed up to clean up. There were some ravens waiting on whatever he left. Without the huge number of cleanup and scavenger critters of various kinds, can you imagine how full of dirt and decaying things a walk through nature would be?
