Shocking footage of a doctor removing a six-centimetre-long live leech from a man's throat.

In the video, captured in Yichang, Hubei Province last Tuesday, a live leech can be seen in the man's throat through the bronchoscope.

The man named Yang had sore throat for four months and then went to hospital.

The doctor found a six-centimetre-long live leech in his throat and removed it for him.

According to Yang, the leech larvas might go into his throat when his mouth touched the water.
