Dramatic footage has emerged from China of firefighters rescuing a five-year-old boy trapped in the middle of an icy lake.

The video, captured in Yulin, Shaanxi Province last Thursday, shows a firefighter carrying a rope and a life buoy walking into the middle of the frozen lake to rescue the boy.

The boy was later rescued and sent to the hospital immediately.

Thankfully, the boy was unharmed.

He puts the boy onto the lifebuoy and pulls it with the rope.

The boy was rescued successfully and sent to hospital immediately.

Fortunately, he was not injured.
