In Moominworld the beloved Moomins come alive. You can meet the Moomin family, Little My and even Stinky in this theme park located in Naantali, Finland. One of the park's specialities is that it doesn't have any rides which was a wish from the author Tove Jansson.
The Moomins are characters in a comic strip and series of books created by Finnish author Tove Jansson. Among Finland The Moomins are especially popular in Japan and Asia. Some couples even get married in the famous Moominland and the weddings are actually quite typical in Moominland during summer time.
The theme park is normally open at summer season but every winter the park opens for one week with the "magic winter" theme.
Moominland is rated as the world's 4th best theme park by The Independent on Sunday (2005).
