Live fire capability display by South African National Defense Force
A night exercise to display that fire power capability of the South African National Defense Force (SANDF) to the public was showcased as part of the National Armed Forces Day.
Illumination shells where fired from the Rooikat armored reconnaissance vehicle, G5 Howitzer, Ratel Infantry Fighting Vehicle, Oliphant Mk2 battle tank and the 76mm Naval gun onboard the Offshore patrol vessel SAS Makhanda.
Tracer ammunitions fired from a variety of weapon platforms, inlcuding the 35mm Anti Aircraft gun, 12.7mm (50cal) machine gun, 7.62mm (30cal) machine guns.
