Footage has emerged from China of children getting haircuts for good fortune on the day of the 'Longtaitou' Festival.

The video, captured in Jinan, Shandong Province on Monday, shows parents taking their children to the hairdresser's resulting in some of them looking rather unhappy.

'Longtaitou' means 'dragon raises its head', which is a traditional Chinese festival on the second day of the second lunar month.

Because the dragon is traditionally regarded as the deity in charge of rain, people get haircut on that day rather than during the first lunar month to pray for good luck.
