An amusing video has emerged of a cat bringing a mouse into its unamused owners' house.

The footage, shot near Manchester, UK on Monday, shows the owners desperately trying to get their cat, Smudges, to take the rodent outside before they eventually scoop it up and put it outside.

"For the last few weeks now, our cat has been bringing home a present for us," the filmer wrote online.

"Unfortunately they are unwanted presents and we are left to clean up everytime."

"It usually means re-arranging the a room as the mouse is always alive when our cat Smudge brings them home," he added.

"My wife and daughter usually retreat to the highest point they can whilst I'm left picking up the pieces."
