Stunning close-up footage of a large great white shark examining a boat off the coast of South Africa.

The video, filmed on a GoPro, shows the curious female, who the crew named Jade, passing extremely close to the back of the cage diving boat.

The footage has been slowed down giving the powerful-looking predator a graceful appearance.

The filmer later wrote online: "The boat is a cage diving boat, where our guests have the chance to a close up view of these sharks underwater.

"Most people have some fear of sharks before getting in, but by the time they come out, every single person had changed their perceptions of them, and seeing Jade in this video, is easy to see why."

This was filmed with my GoPro, and the shark is a female we named Jade. Jade has a very inquisitive and curious nature, as do most young great whites.
