A dramatic video has emerged of a skier landing on rocks after a jump.

The footage, shot with a helmet-mounted camera last year at Whistler Blackcomb ski resort, Canada, captures the moment the skier crashes onto the rocks after he jumped without checking the area.

"Resulted in a seven broken ribs and a collapsed lung," the skier wrote online.

"The gopro I was wearing and took this video on was lost in the crash. It was found when I went back with some friends 4 months later in the spring."

"I posted this video in hopes that somebody out there could learn from my mistake - always check your landings before you jump! I consider myself lucky to get off as easy as I did," he added.

This video was taken on the 7th heaven chairlift at Whistler Blackcomb. Was a little too excited, and made the mistake of airing off this roller that I thought looked ok from the top.
