Footage has emerged of commuters in Vyborgskaya subway station 20 minutes before it was evacuated on Monday after an explosion happened on a train.

The video shows commuters leaving the station as an announcement details the stations that were closed following the explosion between Sennaya Ploshchad and Tekhnologichesky Institut stations.

According to reports, around 10 people were killed when an explosive device detonated on a train earlier.

Another device was reportedly neutralised at Ploshchad Vosstaniya station, three stations away form Vyborgskaya station.

Approx. 15:13, some 20 minutes after explosions on St. Petersburg subway, much more people were trying to leave subway, rather than enter it. Announcement is saying, "Dear passengers! For technical reasons, the following subwy stations are closed for entrance and exit: "Ploshchad Vosstaniya, Sennaya Ploshchad, Technologicheski Institut, Mayakovskaya, Gostiny Dvor, Park Pobedy, Elektrosila, Moskovskiye Vorota, Frunzenskaya. The service on 2nd line is operating from Parnas station to Nevsky Prospekt station, and from Kupchino station to Moskovskaya station."
