This video shows the moment my students decided to surprise me with a gift. I'm still amazed they were able to keep the secret! We were in the middle of using clay, and as you can hear, we were also enjoying new Ed Sheeran music. You can also see a variety of things including my cat apron, a Charlie Hunnam bobblehead from Sons, 2 paintings I haven't quite completed, and many other items.

I teach art at Cranston High School West, in Cranston, Rhode Island. I live about an hour from there in Waltham, Massachusetts and I’ve been teaching art for over 20 years. The students secretly pooled together about $1000 to get a pair of tickets for me.

I had been trying for weeks to get tickets with presale seats, regular seats, new shows added, radio station giveaways etc., but I could not get any tickets. Each time I tried, there were immediately no seats available.

After the seats for September 23rd, 2017 show in Boston, MA sold out, I had looked at the second hand retailers and the prices were too high. At about the same time, my old laptop broke and I had to purchase another one. I had all but given up on being able to get seats for any of Ed Sheeran’s shows near me.

The day this video is from, you can hear how excited they and I were! I wasn’t sure what they were trying to give me. So my reaction is completely genuine.
