Footage of a cat being rescued out of a river in Dublin after a group of good samaritans lowered a rubber ring into the water.

The video, filmed on May 4, shows the lucky feline being lifted out of its predicament, prompting a round of applause from the gathered crowd.

Early evening on a sunny Thursday in Dublin city centre a crowd of people where standing looking into the river. At that time it seemed like a review attempt had just failed. It was unclear what or who was being rescued from the river. So I walked over the bridge and around the other side of the river only to see a man drop down a life ring with some adaption. I could just make out an animal, which turned out to be a cat. The cat grabbef onto the ring and was slowly hoisted up as the view crowd became hushed. Once pulled out the man raises up the cat to raptures of applauses. Heart stopping stuff.
