Shocking footage of a motorcyclist crashing badly while performing a wheelie.

The video, filmed in Tampa, Florida, USA on May 10, shows the motorcyclist wheelie past his friends, only for the bike to twist sideways and send him flying.

"I landed about 40 feet passed my bike and I laid there for a while," the motorcyclist wrote online.

Fortunately, he wasn't badly hurt.

My friends and I were riding around as usual and we went to our usual spot to hang out and as usual I like to go back and forth doing wheelies. This time it went very wrong and my bike went sideways and when I tried to recover the bike launched into the air and myself and the bike catapulted down the road and I flipped a couple times off of the bike. I landed about 40 feet passed my bike and I layed there for awhile.
