More than 100.000 people gathered in the Syntagma (constitution) square, in front of the Parliament, at the same time when inside the building a discussion was in progress for the voting of the most strict austerity program applied in Greece since decades. The so-called "Memorandum III" is a large scale program which includes the privatization of public wealth (shorelines, water, power production, utilities etc), the cut in wages and pensions, in healthcare, education, almost in every aspect of the public sector.
