Today was the final day of discussion for a new bill that the Greek coalition government brought to the parliament for voting. The troika (IMF, EU, ECB) directives for cut-backs have been formulated in a one-article bill that the members of the parliament are called to vote. At the same time, outside of the parliament tens of thousands of people were gathered in Syntagma square to protest against the voting of the strictest austerity package, most of them have ever known in their lives.

Despite the peaceful protest, riot police was set to disperse the crowd by using flash grenades, asphyxiating gas and a lot of clubbing. Gas cans where thrown in the crowd risking serious injuries and causing breathing problems to many protesters. The density of the crowd was so thick that people could not run away from the gases. Many, not being able to see or breathe, where actually carried by others.
