This was towards the end of my 760 kms drive through the night. The other car ahead of me had its brake lights on , but it wasnt actually slowing down . Also , as I was a bit bored and tired , I wasnt paying much attention , only to realise later on that he was slowing down for an unmarked speedbreaker.

Both of us were driving together and ensured we maintan a good gap . As a practice , we use hazard warning lights to warn others about unmarked speedbreakers or anything else that can surprise the driver behind us ( the hazard warning lights were turned at the last min here ).

Having ABS helped othetwise I may not have been able to steer while braking . Also the fact that I wasnt driving on the fast lane close to the median , I had sufficient space to move to the right.

Sharing this video to highlight how important it is to be alert , especially when driving solo on boring 4 lane roads.I should have slowed down immediately as soon as I saw the brake lights come on .

We were lucky here , otherwise this incident had everything necessary to spoil an othetwise perfect drive
