Heartwarming footage of an injured baby kangaroo being rescued at the side of a road in New South Wales, Australia.

The video, filmed near Sydney on June 2, shows the good samaritans dealing with the joey shortly after they discovered it.

They later wrote online: "This was a chance rescue, as we saw blood in the road and searched for the mother's body.

"Luckily we did find her, and her baby was alive with minor injury to her leg."

"She was passed onto another carer, and is doing great," she continued.
